Nothing ruins a beautiful TV installation faster than a bundle of cables hanging down the wall. The good news: there are two solid solutions, and the right one depends on your wall type, budget, and how permanent you want the result to be.
Option 1: In-Wall Wire Concealment (From $69)
This is the gold standard. All cables — HDMI, power, coaxial — are routed through the inside of the wall cavity. From the outside, your TV appears to float on the wall with nothing below it. No visible cords whatsoever.
Works best for: Standard drywall with wood studs. Most Dallas homes qualify.
Requirements: The wall must have a clear path inside — no insulation blocking the route, no fire blocking between studs at the routing height. We check this before starting every job.
Option 2: Surface Raceway (On-Wall)
A paintable plastic channel mounts on the surface of the wall and hides cables inside. It's visible up close but from normal viewing distance looks clean and intentional. The big advantage: it works on any surface including brick, concrete, tile, and plaster — surfaces where in-wall routing isn't possible.
Works best for: Brick or concrete walls, rental apartments where you can't cut drywall, and budget-conscious setups.
Which Should You Choose?
- Standard drywall home: In-wall concealment. It's worth the extra cost for a permanent, professional result.
- Brick, concrete, or tile: Surface raceway. In-wall isn't feasible without major renovation.
- Renting: Surface raceway — no permanent modifications to the wall.
- Fireplace surround: We assess case by case — sometimes in-wall is possible through the surrounding drywall.
